Portuguese Water Dog Breeder
Welcome to Seabrook Portuguese Water Dogs! Our two mother and daughter PWDs are indoor family members living a great life at the ocean near Charleston, SC and on a farm near Woodstock, VT. I started breeding and raising English Springer Spaniels and then Yorkshire Terriers. After these dogs passed and we relocated to the ocean, I started researching breeds that are athletic, smart, loved being in the water and did not shed. After much research and discussions and visits with PWD owners, we decided they would be a great match for our family. So, in 2012 we got our first PWD and the journey began!
I became an avid PWD fan with CH Seaworthy's High Tide at Seabrook CGC "Molly" and GCHB CH Seaworthy's Cassiopeia at Seabrook AWD "Cassie" as our two foundation dogs. They have shown in confirmation earning their Championship demonstrating that they meet the standard of the breed. Cassie went on to earn her Grand Championship Bronze in 2021, Best Futurity Puppy at PWD Nationals in 2018 and an Award of Merit at the Royal Canine in 2018. Both dogs love working hard in water and agility trial events when they are not swimming in the ocean, running through pastures and hiking in the woods.
I believe strongly in preserving the PWD breed through my work with the Portuguese Water Club of America as an active member of the Finance Committee and by breeding true to standard with complete and comprehensive health testing. My breeding goal is to produce pups that are healthy and athletic who meet the standards of the breed whether they show in confirmation or as great family members.
Molly's newest litter arrived October 22, 2021. There are seven happy and healthy puppies - four girls and three boys.
